Bio

Enya received her Bachelor of Arts in Gender, Sexuality & Women’s Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2015. Shortly before moving back to Charlottesville (her hometown), Enya began her graduate career at Indiana University, where she is currently pursuing her Master’s in Social Work.

Enya’s background spans a wide spectrum of industries. Prior to joining VCAC, Enya held various positions as a gardener, florist, sous chef, lighting designer, and sound engineer, and has over a decade of experience in the service industry. From 2014-2016, Enya was recognized as the Richmond Reproductive Freedom Project's top fundraiser, independently raising over $5,000 for the abortion fund, annually. Most recently she served as a technical director for a queer-owned performance venue in Bloomington, Indiana (which produces the best Drag shows in the Midwest, in her opinion). While these positions may seem quite varied, they share a common reflection of Enya’s strong interest in community-focused work.

Enya joined VCAC as the Fiscal & Administrative Coordinator in 2023 and couldn’t be more grateful to work for such an outstanding organization. She is thrilled to support this incredible team to advance VCAC’s mission to increase access to post-secondary opportunities for students in low-income and historically marginalized communities across the Commonwealth.

When not at work, you can find Enya in the garden, at a haiku slam, on her bicycle, or on the front porch with her guitar. She also loves to collage, her elderly cat and dog (Scout & Lucy), and her rubber stamp collection.
