In 2017, Sierra graduated from the University of Virginia's School of Education with a major in Youth and Social Innovation. Following graduation, she joined the VCAC team as a college adviser in Orange County. Because of her passion for education and serving students, Sierra went on to receive her M.Ed. and Ed. S. in School Counseling at Clemson University in South Carolina. Sierra worked as the Counselor Education graduate assistant at Clemson, partnering with professors on a variety of program initiatives and research projects.
Hoping to be closer to home after graduate school, Sierra returned to Virginia in 2021 and worked as a high school counselor in Harrisonburg for three years. Sierra believes deeply in the value that access to education and information has on students and families and she can't be more excited to return to the organization that launched her professional career.
When Sierra is not at work, you can find her on an outdoor adventure, chasing a sunset, or starting a new crafting project.
